Rev. Romall Smalls, M. Div. - Anniversary Sunday/Potluck Brunch

The Reverend F. Romall Smalls, M.Div. (Baptist) is the Associate Pastor for Social Justice at the historic Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY.   

Rev. Smalls has had the distinct honor of being one of the first pastoral counselors in the United States to serve at an HIV/AIDS service center.  He was also the first African American to serve as Senior Affiliate Chaplain at New York University. 

He is a theologian, public health leader, journalist, social commentator, and a respected voice for social justice and equity.   He is currently studying at the City University of New York School of Law where he is working to meld public interest law, liberation theology, and social justice to move protest into policy.  

He recently contributed an essay to the Souls of Queer Black Folk: Queering Black History Month, an anthology of notable Same Gender Loving, Bisexual, Queer African descendent faith leaders published by the Talented Xth Press. 

Rev. Smalls recently served as a City University of New York (CUNY) Interfaith Fellow and they also serve on the Hudson Valley, NY Regional Committee of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) AIDS Institute’s (AI) Faith Communities Project (FCP).
